Abhati Studio, Reimagining Batik Heritage from Yogyakarta

Abhati Studio

Batik plays an important role in Indonesian tradition and reflects the culture of many regions. Yogyakarta is known for its distinctive batik styles, and Abhati Studio is a brand you might want to explore. As new trends and techniques emerge, batik continues to evolve. What makes Abhati Studio unique is that it shares each step of the batik-making process from beginning to end.

Batik has long been worn for certain days and special occasions. But as fashion evolves, it is becoming part of everyday wardrobes in new and exciting ways.  Batik connects tradition and modern style, and it remains one of Indonesia’s greatest cultural treasures.

Contemporary Batik with a Timeless Natural-Dyed Soul

Abhati Studio

Putri Anggita started Abhati Studio as a family business in 2018, driven by her love for Batik and Indonesian culture. Abhati aims to revive traditional Indonesian craftsmanship, encourage pride in textile heritage, and help protect the environment.

Abhati Studio partners with local artisans, blending traditional skills with new design ideas to keep batik relevant now and for the future. The brand aims to create modern, long-lasting batik using natural materials and careful production that supports local communities.

Their signature indigo blue comes from tropical Indigofera plants. Abhati is also known for simple, modern patterns that set them apart from other batik brands.
