Depok Beach

Depok Beach is a popular destination in Bantul, Yogyakarta, famous for its bustling seafood market and vibrant fishing community. Located just west of Parangtritis Beach, it offers scenic coastal views, fresh seafood, and a taste of local culture. Unlike most beaches that focus on sightseeing, Depok Beach lets you buy fresh fish, shrimp, squid, and other seafood directly from local fishermen and have it cooked on the spot.

Entrance Fee

To enter, visitors need to pay an entrance fee for the Parangtritis coastal tourism area, which is about IDR 10,000 per person. Parking fees are extra and depend on your vehicle. The ticket also gives you access to other attractions near Parangtritis and Depok Beach. Prices may change based on local government rules and tourism policies.

What’s Inside

The main attraction at Depok Beach is its lively seafood market and the row of restaurants serving fresh seafood. You can choose your favorite catch from local vendors and enjoy grilled fish, shrimp, crab, squid, and other local dishes while enjoying the ocean view.

Besides the food, you can watch traditional fishing, relax on the beach, or visit Laguna Depok nearby. The lagoon is a peaceful spot for photos, birdwatching, or boat rides. Depok Beach is also a great place to catch the sunset along Yogyakarta’s southern coast.

Getting There

Depok Beach is located in Parangtritis Village, Kretek District, Bantul, around 28 kilometers south of Yogyakarta city center. It usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes to reach the beach by car or motorcycle.

Because it is close to Parangtritis Beach and the Parangkusumo tourism area, Depok Beach is easy to include in a day trip along Yogyakarta’s southern coast.
