Waduk Sermo
Waduk Sermo is the biggest reservoir in Kulon Progo Regency. Located in the Kokap area, this enchanting reservoir is surrounded by the green Menoreh Hills. Since opening in 1996, it has provided irrigation and flood control for the region. It is now a favorite spot for nature tourism. Visitors come for the calm water, beautiful scenery, and quiet setting. Many nature lovers, photographers, and outdoor fans visit to enjoy the wide views and fresh mountain air.
Entrance
Visitors are charged an entrance fee of around IDR 10,000–15,000 per person.

Fun Things to Do in Waduk Sermo
Waduk Sermo offers many outdoor activities for visitors. You can take a boat ride to relax and see the Menoreh Hills from the water. Fishing is popular because the reservoir has many kinds of fish.
The area is great for camping, cycling, photography, and sightseeing. Many people relax by the lake, enjoy the calm views, or watch the green hills reflected in the water, especially in the early morning or late afternoon.
How to Get There
Waduk Sermo is located in Hargowilis Village, Kokap District, Kulon Progo Regency. From Wates, the capital of Kulon Progo, it takes about 15 to 20 minutes by car or motorcycle. From the center of Yogyakarta, the trip usually takes one to one and a half hours, depending on traffic.
